Maulavi Gulam Ali

Maulavi Gulam Ali was the courtier in the court of Aurangzeb’s grandson Farrukhsiyar. In his book, “Twarikh Mohabbaten Aajam’ he writes that with Guru Nanak’s preaching cruel used to turn into compassionate. His divinely verses turned the whole world into a sacred place. Maulavi writes further that Sayyad Peer Hussain who was acknowledged as the light of Islam at that time, has highly praised Guru Nanak Sahib. The knowledge, the skill, the behavior, the celestial qualities which Guru Nanak had, were found in nobody else. He was a majestic, awesome, divinely person on whom God had bestowed his special gifts. After describing the personality of Guru Nanak Dev, he writes that he is firmly sure of this thing that one day both religious creeds (Hindu and Muslim) will ultimately come closer to become one and the outcome of this union will be Sikh religion. The reason for this is the freedom found in Sikh religion. Sikhism do not believe in Namaz, Roza, Circumcision, Kabba and idolatry kind of rituals. All the practices like the practice of untouchability and the practice of sacred thread do not find any place in this religion. There is no difference between rich and poor and people of all castes are welcomed in this religion.
