After viewing the courage, fearlessness and other qualities of Sikhs, the English searched a lot about Sikh religion during their regime. They concluded that Sikh philosophy is highly instrumental in providing balance, spirituality and a feeling of brotherhood to the life, of human beings. The English tried to present a distorted picture of Sikh religion to the illiterate Sikhs and other such people so that, on the national level, Sikh religion could not make a mark. As a result, innocent Indians could be easily converted to Christianity. Miss Mary, an English lady was given the task of presenting a distorted picture of the teachings of Gurbani. When she made a comprehensive study of Gurbani, she got so impressed that she herself converted to a Sikh lady.
